Mervyn John Davis Jnr is a Dunghutti and Kamilaroi man, entrepreneur, and thought leader whose work bridges business success with systemic reform.

A respected voice in Indigenous business, Mervyn is the Managing Director of Claystone, a 100% Aboriginal-owned company providing marketing, communications, governance, and training services to Aboriginal and other purpose-led businesses.

Claystone manages the national Close the Gap campaign website and social media channels.

Raised in extreme poverty in North Kempsey, as one of eight children, Mervyn was the first in his family to attend university.

He is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Political Economy at the University of Sydney.

His Christian faith and deep sense of purpose shapes his work. As the creator of The Cloaking Framework – a model exposing how well-meaning DEI initiatives and supplier diversity policies can mask structural inequity – Mervyn combines lived experience with education and sharp business insight to advocate for First Nations people and other vulnerable groups.

Mervyn lives in Shepparton on the lands of the Yorta Yorta people with his wife Kim – a Gunaikurnai and Dja Dja Wurrung woman – and their two sons.
